Construction of the new Olasiti Orphans Community Center

Orphans Community Center in cramped, rented space

Progress on Our Newest Dream: the Orphanage

First building underway in 2009: the workshop
We succeeded in paying for the land in 2009. The property, located at the edge of Olasiti village, is productive farmland, with a high water table, near a road.  So far, Zenan and the children have planted a thorn fence, banana trees, and vegetables.  In addition, local volunteers started building a storage and workshop to support the orphanage.

In 2009 the Dorobo Fund received a large gift from the estate of a generous donor, allowing us to begin construction. The new, spacious orphanage will have  clean well water, solar electricity, and rooms for cooking, eating, sleeping, and studying.
